Me:
Hi. I'm Russ, a DevOps engineer.
I initially started off as a MERN software developer.
Ever since I've learned to use robots I've always enjoyed
programming. It is extremely satisfying because I enjoy solving
problems and seeing things come to life.
Outside of coding, I'm often found geeking out about emerging
technologies.

- Created Chef Cookbooks to automate 400+ security controls and configuration setups for CentOs, Debian, RedHat, SUSE, and Ubuntu
- Created Ansible Playbooks to automate 400+ security controls and configuration setups for CentOs, Debian, RedHat, SUSE, and Ubuntu
- Wrote Chef InSpec tests to validate configurations of over 400+ security controls
- Implemented automation for repetitive tasks using Configuration Management tools
- Provisioned infrastructure in AWS, GCP, IBM, and Azure using Terraform
- Wrote technical documentation
- Troubleshoot Linux configuration issues
- Helped architect cloud infrastructure
Projects
Slack Clone - Project Manager
This project clones the popular communication app, Slack, using the MERN stack.
Motivation: During our first group meeting, one of our
members suggested a live chat app. Cloning Slack was brought up
and we stuck with it and ran.
I joined a
Chingu
voyage to get the experience of working in an Agile work
environment. I had 6 sprints with 3 other team members to
complete this project. We had meetings every week regarding the
project.

Znayti will help Russian speaking users locate Russian speaking businesses so that they will be able to communicate in a language that they both understand clearly.
Launch Date: In the near future.
Motivation: Whenever I'm trying to find a business that can do the same job cheaper I sometimes turn to the Russian speaking community, but trying to locate the right business is a little hard because most of it is word of mouth.

Hike Carpool
Hike Carpool is a blog dedicated to helping hikers find other hikers that have room in their cars when they are going hiking or even share when they have room in their cars.
Motivation: Whenever I want to go hiking I usually have open seats in my car, and am always open to the idea of meeting new people on hikes.

Late Night Coffee and Tea Search
It is 8 pm and I want to find a coffee or tea house that is open late night within a 5-mile radius of my location.
Motivation: I was tired of looking for places to get coffee late at night only when to click on the location to find out that it is now closed.
